Dear Computer Lady,
I’m a long time reader, thanks for your hard work! Here’s my question…
How can I get my address book (currently in an old program called “My Mail List & Address Book” into a Google address book? I can’t even find the Google address book, but someone told me there was one.
Will I be able to print address labels for Christmas cards if I actually do this?
Thanks for all you do! Blessings to you from Colorado! Karen

Dear Karen,
Google doesn’t have anything called and “Address Book” but as long as you have a Gmail account, you do have a Google contacts list.
I have not heard of the program you currently are using, but if that program will allow you to export your addresses to a CSV file, then you will be able to import it into your Google Contacts.
Google has directions on their website here:

As far as printing address labels for cards, that is not something that you can do with the Google Contacts.
By the way, I send my Christmas cards using Send Out Cards at:
For the past few years, I have designed my own cards, usually using a photo I took myself, and Send Out Cards prints, folds and mails the cards for me.

I have used the templates in MS Word to set up address labels. I open a blank Word document, click on Tools in the toolbar, choose Letters and Mailings –> Envelopes and Labels. In the pop up box that comes up, I click on the tab that says Labels, then choose Options, and choose the size of the labels that I want to print. Most address labels are 1″ x 2.63″, which is #8160. I choose that, and click OK, then I click New Document. The new document has the template of the labels, and all I have to do is fill them in.
Once it’s set up, I save this document, and update the addresses as needed. I have it for whenever I want to print address labels — like when I’m ready to send out Christmas cards.
