Archiving Email in Windows 10

Dear Computer Lady,

I now have Windows 10 and am still getting used to it.

My major complaint at the moment is: How do I archive e-mails?
I have received many that I want to keep, but I cannot figure out how to do this. I cannot simply move the email to the Archive folder. Doesn’t work. Help, please!

Cecile (Sent from Mail for Windows 10)

Dear Cecile,

Unfortunately, the mail app that comes with Windows 10 does not allow you to create folders for storing your mail. You would need to upgrade to an email program with more features.

You could purchase Outlook that comes with Microsoft Office to get this feature, or, my favorite replacement for the Windows 10 mail app is Mozilla Thunderbird.

You can download and install Thunderbird, free of charge at: www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/

Once you have downloaded and installed Thunderbird, all you need is your email address and password to get your email set up and ready to go.

If that is something that you are not comfortable doing, bring it into a local computer shop like mine, and I would be happy to set it up for you.
