Can you help?

Dear Computer Lady,

What a great website you have created. I also learn so much from you. I have XP and use internet explorer as my browser. I will be going in for surgery and I don’t want to come home in 10 days to find numerous emails. Is there a sleep mode or a message to put my computer on OFF while I’m gone.

Thank you in advance, Barb in Buffalo, NY

Dear Barb,

I noticed that you are using an AOL email address. Since I do not use AOL, I am going to ask for help on this question.

If you are reading this question and know how to help Barb set up her AOL account the way she wants, please leave a comment at the end of this post.

Thanks for your help!

You need to go to settings and click on it. You will get a page that says General Settings. Scroll down until you come to Mail Away Message. Click on the arrow and a drop down menu will give you choice of which message you want. Hope this helps.

At the very top of the aol screen on the left you will see..file, edit, mail…click on mail.
Then click on Set Away Message. A box will appear…if your “My Mail Away Message” is
turned off place a dot next to “on” and then choose one of the two options provided below that. After you choose which option you prefer, click OK.
