[ad]Dear Computer Lady,
On my iPad I have thousands of old emails going back at least as far as 2011 at this point, obviously going back to before I bought this iPad in March of 2013.
I cannot find any way to delete them except one at a time.
Please tell me there is another way.
Since you have a Gmail address, I am guessing that this is the email account that you are asking about.
Before we get started, I want to make sure that you are aware that deleting these messages on your iPad will also delete the messages from your gmail inbox online as well.
If you are sure you want to get rid of these messages, you can delete more than one at a time using the Gmail website. When you are viewing the list of messages in your Gmail account, the left of each message has a small box, followed by a star and a tag. Click the box in front of each message you want to delete, then at the top of the list, click on the, “Delete” button at the top of the list. It looks like a little trash can.
If you are using the, Gmail app on your iPad, turn the iPad so it is wider than it is tall. You will see a list of messages on the left, and each message will have a small check box in front of it. Tap on each check box, then tap the, “Delete” icon at the top of the right column.
If you are using your iPad email app, you will need to first, tap the, “Edit” link at the top of the list of messages. Now, you will see a small circle to the left of each message. Tap on the the circle for each message you want to delete, then tap the word, “Trash” at the bottom of the list.
I hope this helps you catch up on your email messages.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
