Dear Computer Lady,
I recently downloaded Windows Live Mail to my laptop so that it would be the same email as my desktop and the text in the menu, folders and message received boxes is so tiny that I can hardly read them.
It’s not like that on my desktop computer Windows 7, 64-bit. I have windows XP with sp3, 32-bit on my laptop.
I have changed the font in the outgoing mail, incoming mail, control panel (changed icon and menu sizes) and nothing seems to affect those items.
Is there a way to change the size of these texts/fonts or am I wishful thinking in Eliot, Maine?
Since I have not seen your laptop, I am going to take a guess here.
I suspect that the resolution on the laptop is so high that everything is too small to easily read.
I would suggest that you change the resolution. Here is how:
To change the resolution in XP:
1. Right click on a blank spot on your desktop and then click “Properties”. This will bring up the “Display Properties” window.
2. In the “Display Properties” window, click on the “Settings” tab all the way to the right of the window.
3. On the “Settings” page, look at the lower left section of the screen entitled “Screen Resolution”. It will have a slider that you can move with your mouse.
4. Slide the slider to the left to make your resolution lower (and the images on your screen larger) and click “OK” when you are finished.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
