[ad]Dear Computer Lady,
Your newsletters have provided me with a lot of good information over the years.
In the last newsletter, there was a question of whether shutting down the computer was a good idea.
My question is whether shutting off the surge protector where my computer and printer are plugged in would be a good idea when they are not in use.
I’m a big supporter of saving on my utility bills and would appreciate your input.
I don’t see any problems with turning off the surge protector once your computer and printer are turned off. And it will conserve a small amount of electricity.
If you want to protect your computer from possible lightening strikes or power surges, however, you should not only turn off the surge strip, but unplug it from the wall as well.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
