Help, Bing is Missing

Dear Computer Lady,

We recently upgraded to IE9 and for the most part are satisfied with the product; however on IE8 we had Bing as our search engine and it no longer shows up on the IE9 tool bar.

We are using a vista computer with trend as our security program.

Can you assist in helping up restoring Bing to our tool bar in IE 9?

Thanks for your assistance, Mary

Dear Mary,

There are a couple of things you can do to make Bing more accessible in your new version of Internet Explorer.

First, you can set Bing as your default search engine. Here is how to do that:

1. Go to www.bing.com and click on “Preferences” in the upper right corner.

2. Across the very top of the web page, there is a menu that lists things like, Web, Images, Video and Shopping. Click on “More” in that menu.

3. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on “Make Bing Your Decision Engine”.

4. Click the list to select your browser, and either click the link, or follow the directions given.

The other thing you can do, is to download the bing toolbar. Just go to:

http://toolbar.discoverbing.com/toolbar/en-US.html

and follow the directions to download the Bing Toolbar.
