Internet Explorer 9 Toolbar

Dear Computer Lady,

I had five new updates to install last night so I installed them. One of them was a change to explorer.

Now my windows toolbar is gone along with the button for favorites! How do I get it back?

Thanks. Dawn

Hi Dawn,

Do you mean Internet Explorer? It sounds like you upgraded to Internet Explorer 9 which does look a little different than IE 8 looked.

If this is the case, you will find your favorites button in the upper-right corner of the browser, right under the minimize and maximize buttons.

The home button looks like a little house, and the favorites button is a star. There is also a button that looks like a gear. this is the way you now access settings.

If you are missing a toobar, just right click in a blank spot to the left of the home button, and you will get a drop down list with your toolbars listed. Just click on the one that you want displayed to turn it back on.

Just read Dawns problem when she installed the Internet Explorer 9. I too had the same problem, but through trial and error, finally restored my favorites button and toolbar. Now I hope you can help me with my problem. Since installing the IE9,I no longer have the 100% on the bottom of my screen in order to change the size of the print. Very frustrating, as I cannot see some of the small prints on my web sites. I have it currently sent on 100%, and don’t want to change it permanently to another size, just when I need it. How do I restore this button on the bottom of my windows screen????
    Thanks, Calgrl

Have tried everything, still can’t get the zoom button to show up on the task bar. Can you help me????? This happened when I installed E9. Everything else works fine, I have restored my favorites button, my tool bars etc. , but cannot get the zoom button. This is the 100% that used to show up on the lower right hand side of my screen. I am one frustrated senior! Please help if you can.
