Internet Explorer Status Bar

Dear Computer Lady,

I have learned so very much from your newsletter that it is beyond words how much I appreciate all the information. I do have a question that I can’t seem to find the answer to. How do I get the magnifying thing back in the bottom right hand corner of Internet Explorer. It was there and now it is not. I don’t know if I have somehow made it go away of not. I do think that it is part of the way the Internet Explorer is set up but don’t know just how to get it back. It was just a place where you could click to make the page larger to read, by a certain percent. Can you help me get this back. I sometimes have eye strain and need to have the type larger.

Thanks for your help, Shirley

Dear Shirley,

It sounds like you have hidden the status bar in Internet Explorer. Here is how you can get it back.

1. Open Internet Explorer.

2. Click on “View” in the menu bar. If the menu bar is not visible, tap the “Alt” key on your keyboard and it will appear.

3. After you click on “View” click on “Status Bar” and the status bar with the magnifying glass will appear at the bottom of your Internet Explorer window.

Another way to turn on or off the status bar is to click on the “Tools” button in Internet Explorer, point to “Toolbars” and then click on “Status Bar”.
