Dear Computer Lady,
We have Windows 7 and would like to know how to send a page of a website via email.
In Windows XP, you just right clicked and it had a place that said, “Send”.
If you are using Internet Explorer with your new Windows 7 computer, and you are using a local email program like Windows Live Mail or Microsoft Outlook, here are your directions.
1. When you are on the web page that you want to send, click on “Page” in the toolbar.
2. In the drop down menu, click on “Send Page by email”.
Your email program will open up with a new message that has your web page attached to it. All you have to do is fill in the email address of the person you are sending it to, and click “Send”.
If you are using an online email interface (one where you open Internet Explorer to check your email) this method does not work because your computer can’t tell the difference between an email web page, and a regular web page.
The only exception is Gmail which has a small program you can install to make Gmail your default mail program. The program is called Gmail Notifier.
