[ad]Dear Computer Lady,
First of all I would like to tell you how much I love your newsletter and I always learn something from each and every one of them. My question is the following.
I have Norton antivirus. If I installed the Malwarebytes program, would it interfere with my antivirus program? l don’t think it will but I just wanted to make sure.
Thank you!! Carol
No, Malwarebytes will not interfere with any of the antivirus programs, in fact, I run Malwarebytes and AVG Internet Security 2015 on my computer together, and they work fine.
Today, there seems to be a lot more malware infections on computers than virus infections. This doesn’t mean that you don’t need antivirus, but it does mean that you need to be sure you are also protected from malware.
Did you know that cybercriminals want to enlist your computer in their network of computer (called a botnet) which they then use to commit crimes? These criminals distribute malware that can turn your computer into a bot. When this happens, you computer can perform automated tasks over the internet without your knowledge. Your computer could be used to send out spam email messages, spread viruses, attack computers and commit other kinds of crime and fraud. This slows down your computer, and sometimes causes it to crash frequently.
Good malware protection will keep your computer running faster, and keep the bad guys (criminals) from using your system.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
