Dear Computer Lady,
I have a 16gb iPad 2.
I found a great free app in the app store called “apps gone free” which offers you many apps that you can download free that day only, but once you download them, they are yours to keep! I like to try new apps, but then find I don’t have as much use for them as I thought I would, or they are game apps that I get bored with.
When I’m ready to delete an app, is there somewhere else on the iPad that I need to delete the download for that app? I only have 16gb of space, and just deleting the app itself doesn’t seem to get me back any of those much needed gb’s. If you know the answer please share it with this new iPad user. Thank you so very much.

Dear Dana,
Since you didn’t describe how you go about deleting apps, I will explain the process here.
First, hold you finger on the icon for the app you want to delete (or any app on the screen) until the icons all start to wiggle.
Once the icons start to wiggle, lift your finger, and tap the black X on the icon of the app you want to delete.
A small dialog box will appear, giving you the option to delete the app, or cancel.
Tap the, “delete” button and your app will be removed.
Deleting an app in this manner will free up the space on your iPad, there is no other place you need to go to delete the app.
If you want to see where the space on your iPad is being used, go to the “Settings” app, tap on, “General” then tap on “Usage”. Wait a few minutes for your iPad to calculate your usage, then you can look through all the apps on your iPad to see which ones are using up all your space.
