Dear Computer Lady,
My home computer uses an Epson printer that I absolutely HATE!
I print very little and use only black ink, but the printer will not operate unless I replace ALL the ink colors!
Is there a printer on the market that you recommend that uses only black ink? I don’t print ANYTHING in color and do not need quality print.

Dear Hazel,
If you only need to print in black, and you don’t print very often, I would suggest you get a black laser printer. Here is why.
First, you only have to buy one color, black. There are no colors to purchase.
Second, since you don’t print very often, you won’t have to worry about ink cartridges drying out. The laser toner is not a liquid and does not dry out and clog up the inkjets.
You can get a black, HP laser printer for under $100.

I have an HP printer so I don’t know if this will be the same for an Epson. I can go into my printer settings and choose if I want color or just black. I have no need for color so this works for me. I buy my cartridges online at Amazon, eBay, etc and can find them at a much cheaper cost. I have a laser printer in waiting if my HP ever stops working. I have had it for almost 20 years and it still works good as new.
