Dear Computer Lady,
I have “gone over to the other side” and now have MACs, but a volunteer at the hospital where I work recently upgraded to WIN10 and now her printer won’t work.
What should she do? It’s a Dell computer and Dell printer….

Dear Becky,
She should go to the Dell website and search for her printer model.
Hopefully, Dell will have written new drivers for the printer and made them available on their website.
If not, she will either have to go back to her previous version of Windows, or purchase a newer printer.

As Elizabeth says, you have to find a printer driver that will work.
The tricky part is if you have an older model printer that HP didn’t bother to create a new driver for. They it is worth your while to try drivers for your printer Model made specifically for older versions of Windows. Also look for “generic” Win 10 printer drivers that will give you most of the features.
You could also look at drivers for other printers in the same “model family”.
