Dear Computer Lady.
Thank you for being my computer guru for so many years. You’re the best!
I have a question abut AVG. Because you’ve long recommended AVG, I purchased it a few months ago.
When a free download showed up a few weeks ago up for AVG to optimize my computer, I assumed it was okay to do so it. Now several times a day a message to buy the full version appears on my screen and the only way to get rid of it is to restart my computer.
I’m frustrated and ready to get rid of AVG and go back to Webroot, which has served me well for many years. It seems to me that if this optimization program isn’t from AVG, that AVG should have protected me from it.
Can you give me any insight here? Teri
It sounds like you have downloaded the trial of AVG Tune-up.
If you want to get rid of it, and the prompts to purchase it, just follow these directions.
1. Open the Control Panel (right-click on the start button, click on “Control Panel”)
2. Under “Programs” click on “Uninstall a Program” or click on “Programs and Features”.
3. Click on the program you want to get rid of, then click “Uninstall” in the menu bar. or right-click on the program and click “Uninstall/change” in the context menu.
4. When the program has finished uninstalling, restart your computer and the unwanted program will be gone.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
