Dear Computer Lady,
I would like to learn how to download a You Tube video to a CD-R. I have a DVD/CD player and I’d like to download an educational video to a CD-R and play it over and over again without using data on my tablet.
Thanks, Yvonne in CA
Dear Yvonne,
Downloading a Youtube video, buring it onto a disk and then playing it in your DVD player is not impossible, but there are a lot of things to consider.
First is the question of legality. Can you legally download the video in question. I am not sure if a video creator has the ablility to allow users to download the video or not, I have only been uploading video to Youtube for a short period of time.
It is important to remember that some people depend on the income from the advertisements that play every time someone views the video. If everyone downloaded their videos, they would no longer have an income.
If you have the legal issues resolved, then you need several more things in place. First, software that will download the Youtube videos, and secondly software that will take the downloaded video and burn it onto a disk in a format that your DVD player can use.
I don’t have any suggestions for you on the downloading of videos, but I can suggest Roxio Creator for creating a DVD that will be compatible with your player.
If any other readers have suggestions, I would love to hear them, either comment using the link below, or send an email to eboston@gwi.net.
