Dear Computer Lady,
I have AVG installed on my computer. I also have AVG Tune Up and Malwarebytes.
Was having a problem with Tune Up, it kept leaving me messages saying my trial was over and I should buy it, so I contacted AVG and we straightened things out.
While on the phone with a rep, she said she noticed Malwarebytes on my pc and recommended deleting it as 2 security programs have trouble getting along. She wanted to do it but I told her not to as I had to talk to someone about it.
So what is the best thing to do?
Thank you, Nancy
There is no problem having AVG Internet Security on your computer along with the free version of Malwarebytes. The AVG actively scans your computer, while the free version of Malwarebytes is an on demand scanner, it only scans when you ask it to. It is often good to have a second opinion since no security program will catch everything.
The other AVG program, AVG tune-up is not something you need on your computer. I know they try really hard to sell it to everyone, but it does many things that are either not necessary, or are already done by Windows itself.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
