Syncing iPad Contacts

Dear Computer Lady,

I attempted to sync what I could to my iPad, from my old computer.

Some of it worked. One of the things I wanted the most was my address book and it didn’t work.

I have the iPad 2.

How can I get the address’s to my iPad?

Thanking you in advance, Elizabeth.

Dear Edwina,

It depends on what program you are storing your address book in on your old computer.

If your addresses are in Microsoft Outlook, you can set your iPad to sync with it using iTunes.

The good news is that even if you have to type in your contacts on your iPad, once they are on the iPad, you can sync them with iCloud and then be able to access them from any device with internet access.

Just tap on “Settings” on your iPad, then tap on “iCloud” in the left column, and tap to turn on Contacts in the right column.

Once you have your contacts set up in iCloud, you can go to from any computer, sign in with your apple ID and view your contacts, calendar, notes and other things right on the website.
