Tablet Vocabulary: Chromecast
A Google Chromecast is actually a device that you attach to your TV and can then use your tablet to view video on the TV. The Chromecast device itself is just a little bigger than a USB thumb drive, and plugs into an HDMI port on your television.
At only $35. this little device is much less expensive than similar devices (I paid $99 for my Apple TV) but also does not yet work with as many services as some of the other devices. It currently works with Netflix, YouTube, and Google Play, with other services in the works.
You can control your Chromecast from Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, your Mac computer, and even your Windows PC. They just need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as your chromecast.
