OneDrive in Windows 10

Dear Computer Lady

I have a Windows phone so I am afraid to download Windows 10 on my computer because I don’t think they have Windows phone 10 yet.

The phone and computer seem to connect to each other. When I take photos with my phone, they automatically go to One Drive. I don’t want to lose this feature.

Thank you for any help, Brenda

Dear Brenda,

I don’t believe that upgrading your computer to Windows will break the connection between your phone and One Drive. OneDrive is actually on Microsoft’s servers and you access it both from your phone and your computer.

If you were to lose that connection when upgrading to Windows 10, all you would have to do is log back into OneDrive on your computer, and all your files will be there waiting for you.

I can tell you that I can access my files stored in OneDrive from my laptop and desktop even though one is running Windows 8.1 and the other is running Windows 10. I can even access my OneDrive files from my iPad and iPhone.

I hope this helps with your upgrade.
