Dear Computer Lady,
I have recently had issues with my PC in being able to view certain programs or to operate them at all. I use Windows 10. I suspect this is the culprit.
I have been using Turbotax for years. MY 2016 version worked at first then stopped allowing me to access it at all. Even the Turbotax folks couldn’t help me.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but without success. Any idea why this is happening and how I can fix it? Turbotax pointed the finger at Windows 10. I don’t have proof, but I suspect they are right. Help!

While I can’t tell you exactly what is wrong without actually running some diagnostics on the computer, I did want to tell you not to fall for the blame game.
Windows 10 has been around for a while now, and in my experience it is a nice, solid operating system. When you are a phone tech support person for a company, and everything you try to fix the problem doesn’t work, what is the easiest thing to do? Blame it on someone elses product!
I sometimes talk to customers after they have called multiple companies, and each one points the finger at the next.
The problem you describe could be the result of hard drive problems, or it could be that your windows instalation has become corrupt and you might need to re-install. But even if it is a corrupt operating system, remember that this can happen with any operating system, not just Windows 10.
