[ad]Dear Computer Lady,
I have a question regarding Windows Media Center and Windows 10.
I understand that Windows 10 no longer contains Windows Media Center. Is it possible to upgrade a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 computer to Windows 10 but still incorporate Windows Media Center?
If not, what could be used to replace the functionality of Windows Media Center on a Windows 10 equipped computer?
Thank you for your help, I really appreciate your column. Jeff
Although I haven’t tried upgrading a computer with Windows Media Center (WMC) to Windows 10, everything that I have found while researching your question says that it is not possible to keep WMC once you have upgraded to Windows 10.
My advice would be to stick with Windows 7 or 8.1 if you want to continue using WMC.
If you do decide you want to try the upgrade to 10, make a full system backup using a program like Acronis so that you can restore back to your current setup if you don’t like the results of upgrading to 10.
As far as alternatives to WMC, I haven’t tried any of these, but they have some good reviews.

(this one looks just like WMC)
