IE Toolbars in Windows 8

[ad]Dear Computer Lady,

Can you give me some keyboard shortcuts for internet explorer on windows 8? I am having a bad time trying to maneuver around when I am on IE.

I’ve had Windows XP and my laptop has Windows 7 and I can see the menu and address bars but on Windows 8, I can’t view these, especially the menu and toolbars.

Thanks, Kathy

Dear Kathy,

It sounds like you are using the IE app on the start screen with all the squares instead of the old Internet Explorer which can be found on the desktop.

Click on “Desktop” first, then click on the Internet Explorer button on the taskbar. This will open the old version of IE which has the toolbars and address bar.

If you are already using that version of IE, and the toolbars are hidden, try tapping the, “Alt” key on your keyboard to display the menu bar.
