Dear Computer Lady,
My old computer crashed, but my son was able to retrieve my files from my old hard drive. I had a special wallpaper on my old computer that I downloaded from the internet that I just loved. What file extension might that wallpaper have had? I’m hoping I can find it in the old files. I was using Windows 98 at the time, but am now using Windows XP.
Thank you, Jacquelyn

Dear Jacquelyn,
The wallpaper file on your old computer probably had a .bmp extension and was located in the C:\Windows\ folder on your hard drive.
Since you got it off the internet, it could possibly be a .jpg file, and might possibly be called something like Internet_Explorer_Wallpaper.bmp or .jpg.
