[ad]Dear Computer Lady,
L O V E your newsletter!
I get this error; “Virtual memory low” from time to time and it makes my computer run VERY slow. How can I resolve this and increase my virtual memory file(s).
P.S. I’ve learned SO much from reading your newsletter.
I wish I knew more about your computer such as what operating system you are running, and how old the computer is.
Usually when we get a virutal memory message like that, it means that a program has reserved a portion of the virtual memory and has not released it. Shutting down the computer and starting it back up again will force the program to release the reserved memory.
Since you say that this only happens from time to time, the best solution is to restart your computer when you see this message.
If you want to increase the size of your virtual memory file, Microsoft has directions on their site. Just go to www.microsoft.com and search there.
It’s Your Turn: What do you think?
